There are a couple of different schools of thought on whether to hire someone in mid-December. One side says wait until after the Holiday season is over to avoid giving time off to a new employee. This can help them avoid interruptions in training, payroll, etc.
The other side says, “Bring it on.” These firms view the slower holiday season as a time for people to get their feet wet without drowning as well as an opportunity to get a few more expenses on the books in the current fiscal year.
What are your thoughts? Do you hire right before Christmas?
