Anna Baker is the Recruiting Manager at our Dallas office, and she’s been part of our team for 4 years. We’re so grateful for Anna’s contributions to our company, day in and day out, as she leads her team and invests in each one.
Four years ago, IDR’s corporate recruiter, Brian Scheffer, found Anna on LinkedIn. The two of them shared an Alma Mater, Texas A&M, and were both part of the legendary Fightin’ Texas Aggie, the school’s marching band.
Having made a fortuitous connection, Anna was immediately intrigued by the opportunity to come to work for IDR. Ultimately, she landed at the Dallas office, where she says this about her experience there:
“Everyone made me feel so welcome, and I felt I was meant to be here! IDR was one of few places that would give a new college grad a chance to grow and gain great sales skills.”
At IDR, we pride ourselves on creating a positive, encouraging, and exciting company culture that inspires the best of our people. Anna is no exception.
“IDR’s culture is like a family. We like to work hard, but we also like to have fun! There is always an open-door policy with upper management, which I have greatly valued and appreciated over the years. …There is always the drive to make changes in positive ways to benefit the people.”
“Be A Boss” is one of the core values here at IDR. For Anna, it means taking ownership and positively impacting the bigger picture daily.
“My favorite part about my position is the opportunity to help grow young leaders. To make sure they’re cared for and set up to be successful. Being a boss to me means being a role model and leading by example. To know you have a voice and to use it positively and effectively.
To Be A Boss, you’re someone who’s valued, and your team turns to you for feedback and opinions. You own accountability for the part you play in the big picture and hold others accountable as well.”
Another core value is to Never Settle. This means something a little different to each team member, but here’s Anna’s take on it.
“Finish each day and win each day. It’s the power of ‘one more.’ The idea is to never settle for less than what our clients, consultants, and employees deserve. To never settle for anything less than success.”
IDR has a reputation among our clients and employees for making it happen. To help them reach their goals. For being the solution or opportunity they need. Among our employees, we expect the same.
Here’s Anna’s perspective on what it means to make it happen.
“Making it happen means making a sacrifice, putting in the hard work, going the extra mile, and holding yourself accountable. It’s a pattern of doing the hard things no one else wants to do but that you know will bring you success.
At the end of the day, we’re problem solvers. We must do whatever it takes to bring clients and consultants success.”
Going all in is another core value among the IDR team. According to Anna, here’s what that looks like. “Going all in is maximizing your potential where you’re at. I like to call it blooming where you’re planted. It’s committing to every day even if you don’t want to without cutting corners.”
“Being part of an ESOP means I have a voice. It’s being involved in the bigger goals of the company and being considered in the decisions the company makes. I’m not just a number, I’m a valued and vested team member.
We all have to take ownership and recognize our impact on the bigger picture is more than we think. At IDR, we are truly a team.”
“I love to hang out with my family. We enjoy cooking, games, and puzzles. You can usually find us all hanging out on the back porch with all four dogs, just enjoying one another and talking about life.”
If you’d like to join the positive, empowering culture of IDR and take advantage of the same opportunity Anna found, we can make that happen. See current openings here.
